My past teaching experience has been in the post compulsory sector since 1999 within the context of health and well-being as a clinical skills tutor, and module lead for PG/Dip Physician Associate Studies at University of Leeds. I also taught and facilitated workshops for various community groups and communities, and more recently taught within medical education within the context of my role as a physician Associate at a major hospital in Sheffield.
This involved preparing of sessions and being clear on learning outcomes for students/participants and using a range of resources to maximise learning and to accommodate different learning styles. My sessions are very participatory and engaging and ensuring students/participants achieve the intended learning outcomes. I value feedback in order to improve the learning experience for the learners and for myself.

I currently have a coaching business and run workshops and have written several courses which can be delivered online and face to face. As an educator, I believe some qualities of a good teacher include skills in communication, listening, collaboration, adaptability, empathy and patience. Other characteristics of effective teaching include an engaging classroom presence, value in real-world learning, exchange of best practices and a lifelong love of learning. For me being an educator and coach isn’t just a job-It’s a passion and my work plays an incredibly important role in my students/clients’s lives. I take pride in leveraging my therapeutic and teaching skills in supporting students/clients in working through obstacles that may hinder daily life and interactions with others.
