What?
I offer educational services across a range of subjects including Maths, English, Reasoning and Linguistic Processing. Tuition is often more directly focused on academic and professional needs, while Curiosity Workshops has extra freedom for exploration, practical application and discussion in a variety of topics such as Astronomy, Cooking, Crafts, Games, Music, Nature and Sports. I often work with people encountering learning barriers, where a fresh approach that looks to build on a deeper understanding of the subjects in hand can be fruitful. These barriers can be for anyone of any age, although typically relates to the curriculum up to 13+.

How?
Developing strong learning foundations includes getting familiar with the tools and materials to hand - including the nature of numbers, words and the frameworks they operate in. Facilitating these insights in an engaging and relevant way is the challenge, with an emphasis on discovering and nurturing the passions of the student, and providing opportunities for them to ‘see’ and explore for themselves. I have wide-ranging interests and experience to draw on to try and bring teaching to life, and consider learning to be a communal process.

Why?
No easy answer here. There is the big picture around an interest in learning, communication and relationships, while a big part of it is simply enjoyment of eachother’s company and exploring the subjects together, especially when an unexpected penny drops. For that to take place, there are aspects to teaching that go beyond knowledge of the subjects, so it becomes a communal learning process.

Who?
A varied career and some paths less traveled have led to a deep interest in communication and the learning process. Teaching is a primary way to explore this further, through classes, mobile workshops, events and dialogues. While is mostly dedicated to teaching, I also still dabble in other professional interests, particularly around event production and organic business consultancy.

What’s on Offer
To make classes as accessible as possible, and to explore in different dynamics, a variety of services and formats are available. These can be solo, with friends and family, or in a wider group; online, in-house, or out an about; with pricing to make something for everyone. Curiosity Workshops are also available for events and festivals, and for after school clubs and holiday camps.
