I’m a friendly and passionate tutor with over 3 years of experience working with children including teaching SATS and GCSE students. I am currently studying s masters degree in optometry. I tutor a range of GCSE subjects- maths, English, science, geography, Arabic and french. As well as A level psychology. I have delivered both online and in person lessons and have worked with two tuition centres during this time. My sessions are interactive, using mini quizzes, flashcards, topic summaries and past paper practice to make learning engaging and effective. I also use an online whiteboard for clear, visual step by step explanations that help break down complex topics. Because I have worked with many students, I have developed a variety of teaching techniques to match different learning styles. I can empathise with students who struggle, as o understand how challenging certain subjects can be. Many of the students i have worked with have gone from grades 4 to achieving 7/8s with the right support and encouragement it’s possible. I have studied both AQA and OCR exam boards and I’m open to working with others. My goal is to help each student gain confidence, enjoy learning and reach their full potential.
In my lessons, I begin by asking student which topics they would like to focus on. Then, we start with a quick quiz to actively recall material from previous lesson. I outline the plan for the one to two hour session so the student knows what to expect. Next, I ask the student what they find most challenging about the topic we are covering in the lesson so I know what to focus on, I use mini quizzes to check the students understanding after explaining each section with the topic. I provide practice questions, then mark and review the answers together, explaining why the students answers and correct or incorrect. I encourage students to share their thought processes and how they arrived at their answers, which helps me teach effective exa, techniques and provide advice on how to Improve. At the end, o assign additional questions and provide a topic summary sheet so the student is able to look back on when revising. Finally, i ask what they would like to cover in the next lesson to keep the sessions tailored and focused on their needs.
