I believe that learning a language should feel personal, practical, and enjoyable. That’s why I like to make sure my lessons are tailored to each student and their individual goals. I don’t want my lessons to feel like simply memorising words and grammar rules , I want us to actually talk, practise, make mistakes, learn from them, and gradually build your confidence in using German.

German can be a challenging language, especially when it comes to grammar. I completely understand how overwhelming it can feel when there are so many rules, different word endings, cases, sentence structures, and exceptions to remember. I’ve had German classes throughout my school years, so I know from experience that even after learning German for a long time, the grammar can still feel complicated!

That’s why I like to build a strong foundation first. We can work on useful vocabulary, basic grammar, sentence structures, and pronunciation, and then gradually expand from there. Once you understand the foundations, learning new words and more complicated grammar becomes much easier. My aim is not for you to simply memorise something for one lesson, but to understand how the language works so that you can use it independently.

I also want to focus on the kind of German you can actually use in everyday life. Whether your goal is to have conversations, travel, communicate with German-speaking friends or colleagues, understand German texts, or simply feel more confident speaking, we can focus our lessons around what is useful and relevant to you.

Speaking is a particularly important part of my lessons. I want you to have plenty of opportunities to practise expressing yourself in German rather than worrying about making every sentence perfect.
Pronunciation is another area I really value. Knowing vocabulary is useful, but being able to pronounce it clearly and confidently makes a huge difference when communicating with other people. We can work on difficult German sounds, pronunciation, rhythm, and speaking naturally, so that you feel more comfortable when using German out loud.

I’m especially happy to work with students who already have some experience with German or have had German lessons in the past. Perhaps you learned German at school, studied it previously, or already know some basic vocabulary and grammar but don’t feel confident actually using it. We can start from where you are, identify what you already know, and build from there rather than going over things you don’t need.

Every student learns differently, so I like to adapt my lessons depending on what works best for you. We can spend more time on conversation, grammar, vocabulary, reading, pronunciation, or a mixture of everything. The most important thing is that the lessons are useful for you and that you feel like you are making progress.

My goal is to help you develop a solid foundation in German while making the language feel less intimidating and much more approachable. Step by step, we can build your vocabulary, improve your grammar, strengthen your pronunciation, and most importantly, help you become more confident communicating in German.
