Hi! I am a 3rd year medical student at the University of Cambridge (at Trinity hall college) and have been tutoring GCSE and A level Biology, Chemistry and Maths for over 4 years now. I have tutored both privately and for companies previously. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with students to help them achieve their goals and have come to understand common themes and concepts that students tend to struggle with most. I achieved grade 9s and A*s in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Spanish at GCSE and A level respectively and have experience tutoring many exam boards including Edexcel, AQA, OCR and Eduqas. I try and keep my lessons as relaxed as possible and encourage my students to ask as many questions as they can throughout the session to aid their understanding. When going through content, I tend to keep the student's exam specification on the screen and go through each specification point as if it were a question. This helps me to ensure that the student knows exactly what they need to know in accordance with the exam board. Following this, I have found that working through exam-style questions with the student is a good way to check their understanding. However, my lessons are always tailored to what the students want to go through and I am always happy to adapt my sessions accordingly. In addition, I am happy to offer university application guidance and advice for prospective medical students. This includes support for mock interviews, entrance exams and personal statement reviews.
