Maisie Jamieson

Hello I am Maisie and I am a recent postgraduate student from the university of Sheffield where I completed my Master’s in Psychological Research Methods with Advanced Statistics. I also competed my undergraduate here and recieved a First.

With a strong background in research methods , I can support students in developing the skills and confidence needed to excel in this area psychology which often evokes fear and anxiety. I also have hands on experience with SPSS and R studio so can help mitigate any problems that students often experience in this area. As research methods is such an important part of the subject I feel a strong understanding here provides the foundation to achieve high grades in psychology

I also can help with essay structuring, as I have often helped my peers to achieve firsts in their essays, even outside of psychology. I focus on improving argument clarity and ensuring students can target the higher ends of the marking criteria.

My lessons are interactive and tailored to each student’s needs, whether that’s breaking down tricky research methods, structuring application questions to reach top marks, or mastering 16-mark exam questions.

Having studied Edexcel Psychology at A level myself, I’m very familiar with the content and exam style, but I can adapt my approach to suit any exam board. At university I studied social, developmental, cognitive, research methods and neuroscience/ clinical so can help understand any topics or research within these individual fields.

I usually tutor online for flexibility and convenience, but I’m also happy to arrange in-person sessions near Reading.
