I'm a friendly and enthusiastic university student hoping to help students making their way through primary and secondary education. I'm hoping to share my passion for learning, as well as sharing the top tips and insights that helped me achieve all A*s in my IGCSEs, and 42 points in the IB. I'm currently pursuing my passion for economics and maths by studying politics, philosophy, and economics at Exeter University. I love working with kids and teenagers, and have a plethora of experience tutoring a variety of ages and abilities, including students with ADHD.

I was lucky enough to have teachers who gave my subjects meaning beyond the classroom, leading me to fall in love with the process of learning and seeing my knowledge reflected in the world around me, I hope to help inspire students in the same way.

Before we begin working together we’ll outline exactly what you hope to achieve through working together, whether it’s gaining knowledge, developing exam technique, or building confidence in the classroom- from then each session will be structured to achieve each student’s specific objective. I’m happy to help students go over topics and skills they know they’re struggling with, or I can provide assessments to gauge problem areas and progress from them. My priority is creating a judgement free space where students feel comfortable to have a go, make mistakes, and ask questions. I’ll get to know student’s individual learning style and interests, ensuring the exercises we do are engaging and tailored to their unique needs. We’ll talk about subjects, discovering what makes them interesting, and how they are relevant to our passions and the real world. Our discussions will be guided by your course’s curriculum, and we’ll consolidate our learning with practice questions to ensure students are developing the knowledge and skills they need to excel in assessment.

The great thing about 1-1 tutoring is that every session is made for your child! I will support them however they need, from helping them with homework, to going back to basics on topics they can't wrap their head around. I'll help students organise their learning and assessment preparation, using past papers to format their knowledge and improve SATs or GCSE exam technique. Having sat exams for every subject I tutor, I can relate to the struggles students may face, and provide the methods I found effective in helping me conquer them. Throughout my education I adopted techniques that allowed me to overcome my anxiety around exams, and I hope to share the insights that helped me gain confidence in myself and see test-taking as less overwhelming and more of an exciting challenge of my ability. I'd love to help your child achieve those moments of satisfaction and pride that occur when they solve a question that had stumped them, or understand a topic they found overwhelming.
