Mahesh Nanavare

I am Mahesh, a Computer Science tutor based in Bristol, and I teach online. I am a Graduate Teacher at the University of Bristol, where I help 100+ students with Java, Linux lab sessions and computer architecture. I also support students with learning needs, including SEND support in secondary schools, exam support for dyslexic students and technical help for a visually impaired Computer Science student. This taught me to explain the same idea in different ways and to never rush anyone.

My main quality is patience. I explain things in plain words and I am happy to repeat them. I stay calm when code does not work, because bugs are a normal part of learning. I also like making tech feel real, so I link lessons to games, apps, smart devices and AI.

My method is simple. Each lesson starts with a quick chat about what feels hard. I explain one idea with a small example. Then you try a similar task while I watch. If your code breaks, I ask you to explain your thinking first, and we find the mistake together. This helps you learn to fix problems on your own. I use screen sharing and live coding so you can see every step.

I also teach testing, so students learn to check that their code really works. At the end of each lesson we recap, and you get one small task to try before the next one. I can share short notes for revision.

Lessons are friendly, calm and at your speed.
