My lessons are hands-on, collaborative, and tailored to each student’s interests, experience, and creative goals. I focus on filmmaking, visual storytelling, and creative media, covering directing, cinematography, editing, and art practice. Each session balances practical skill-building with creative exploration, helping students develop both confidence and their own unique voice.

I draw on over ten years of experience working across documentary, short films, music videos, and social media content for well-known arts and cultural projects. I have designed and run filmmaking and creative skills programmes where I taught camera skills, interviewing, and post-production. I also hold an MA in Creative Production for Film and have experience in narrative development and screenwriting, which I bring into lessons to support storytelling and idea development. I work with sound and electronic music using Ableton Live, which informs my approach to audiovisual and cross-disciplinary lessons.

I structure lessons around a mix of guided exercises, independent projects, and real-world examples. This allows students to learn techniques while experimenting, problem-solving, and discovering solutions themselves. I provide feedback and mentoring throughout, offering encouragement, practical advice, and ways to push ideas further. I also share references, inspiration, and creative examples from film, art, and music to spark curiosity and broaden creative thinking.

Whether lessons are one-to-one or in small groups, I aim to create a calm, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and trying new skills. Students learn to take ownership of their work through independent assignments, giving them space to explore ideas and practice problem-solving.

Ultimately, my lessons are about inspiring curiosity, encouraging creative risk-taking, and helping students find their own voice in storytelling and visual media.
