My classes are friendly, realistic, and customized to each student's objectives and degree of experience. Whether you have no prior experience with technical drawing or are employed in engineering, design, or construction, the lessons are designed to give you practical knowledge and self-assurance that you can use in the workplace.
With the use of screen sharing, live drawing demonstrations, step-by-step exercises, and actual project examples, lessons can be given both in-person and virtually when feasible. I focus heavily on practical learning rather than just theory, helping students understand how technical drawings are actually produced, coordinated, and used on live projects.
Typical lesson content may include:
Technical drawing fundamentals
Reading and interpreting drawings
CAD drafting and workflows
General arrangement drawings, sections, and detailing
Architectural metalwork and glazing details
Fabrication and manufacturing drawings
Drawing standards, dimensions, tolerances, and annotations
Problem-solving and buildability considerations
Real-world project coordination and detailing methods
Lessons are interactive and adapted to the student’s pace. I encourage questions throughout and aim to explain complex drawing concepts in a clear and straightforward way. Students can also bring their own projects, coursework, or workplace drawings to work through together.
With industry experience in technical drawing, CAD detailing, bespoke metalwork, glazing systems, façades, roofs, floors, and construction-related projects, I bring real commercial knowledge into the lessons. The goal is not only to improve drawing skills, but also to help students understand how drawings function within real manufacturing and construction environments.
