I use a fun, engaging tone while maintaining a professional manner and active frequent testing to maintain attention and engagement. Lessons are often student led, with encouragement from students to ask questions and raise issues on topics that are difficult. Lessons are typically an hour long but can change to suit the student/parents needs. A typical lesson is in presentation format with fun icebreakers at the start followed by basic understanding questions, then further followed by my best explanation of the mentioned topic. Finally, I encourage the student to practice what they have learnt and test themselves on exam style questions that I will provide. I am a firm believer in positive reinforcement and pride myself on patience the ability to instill confidence in any aspiring student. I understand that maths is a tricky subject, but it doesn't have to be! As an ex-school student I feel some teachers actually over-complicate mathematics, which I do not intend to do. After completing extra-curricular mathematics at school (company called Kumon) I can safely say I am confident in teaching GCSE maths or younger. Also as a camp counselor, I understand how kids think, and go about things, I intend to bring empathy and understanding to my lessons. All my skills and experience combined with my current masters degree make me a strong candidate for teaching. If anyone would like me to teach their student please do not hesitate to contact me on Lessons will be typically priced at £25/hour. Thank you
