Luke Bannister

Hello - my name is Luke. I am an undergraduate academic scholar at Christ Church, University of Oxford, studying Classics. I have 5 years teaching experience and have mentored 2 students to get into Oxford university. I have 3 x A* at A-level, and was awarded two academic awards at Westminster School and was awarded First Class honours in part 1 of my degree.

My lessons are, first and foremost, interactive. I like to be led by how the student learns most effectively - however this may be. Usually, I will ask the student in advance what they would like to cover. In the lesson, we will go through, together, some practice questions. After this, I will set some optional practice questions for the student to look over in their own time in between lessons. I like to check in regularly as to whether the student is enjoying the lessons - and what they would like to change.

I can tutor history, Latin, Greek, classics and French to A Level standard. I like work to be targeted - so it’s always best for a student to tell me precisely what they want to cover in advance. I can teach on line or at the student’s house.

I taught music to primary school students for 3 years, many of whom had learning difficulties. I have been tutoring A level students for one year. I have been mentoring students for Oxbridge for 2 years. I look forward to getting in contact about potential lessons.
