Luiza Dihoru Smith

I am a highly experienced professional maths tutor, educated at PhD level. I have worked as a professional maths tutor and a research scientist with the University of Bristol for 22 years.
Since 2021, I have accumulated over 1800 hours of online maths tuition, supporting over 160 students with their exam preparation. I currently teach around 15 students per week both online and in-person and help them to reach their maximum potential in their studies. I teach Pure Mathematics, Statistics and Mechanics.
Throughout my career, I supervised a large number of KS3, GSCE, A level, MSc and PhD students in their maths and applied mathematics studies. I have a sound knowledge of the maths curriculum and the exam board requirements (Edexcel, AQA, OCR, IB, IGCSE).

I hold a DBS certificate.

My tutoring work will be curriculum based and will focus on each topic by employing textbooks, workbooks and exam papers. Once the curriculum topics are consolidated, we will work on past exam papers so that the student gets exposed to a variety of exam style questions. The student will receive homework to do between the tutoring sessions and his/her progress will be monitored. His/Her individual work between the sessions will be the main driving force behind progress. I will give mock exam tests periodically and provide feedback for improvement.

I have the most up to date teaching tools and software for teaching online, including HD webcam, whiteboard, access links to teaching resources and teaching platform software. I hold an extensive archive of Edexcel, AQA, OCR, IGCSE past exam papers (KS3, GSCE and A-Level) and teacher resources.
