I am a committed and adaptable Police Officer with four years of frontline response experience with West Yorkshire Police, supported by a BSc (Hons) in Policing, which I completed through the Degree Apprenticeship route. Working in fast-paced, high-risk environments has taught me to stay calm under pressure, make clear decisions, and communicate effectively with both colleagues and the public. I’ve responded to a wide range of incidents including domestic abuse, violent crime, sexual offences and mental-health crises, often acting as the first officer on scene and taking the lead in securing evidence, assessing risk and coordinating multi-agency responses.
As a qualified Sexual Offence Liaison Officer, I’ve developed strong trauma-informed practice and experience supporting vulnerable victims through sensitive and complex investigations. My attachments across CID, Domestic Abuse teams and Neighbourhood Policing have strengthened my investigative skills and given me a broader understanding of policing beyond frontline response.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my career has been serving as a Tutor Constable, mentoring new recruits and helping them build confidence, professionalism and sound decision-making. Providing structured feedback and guidance has shown me how much I enjoy supporting people at the start of their policing journey.
Because of this experience, I’m well placed to offer advice to university and high-school students interested in policing. I can speak honestly about what the job involves — the challenges, the rewards and the importance of resilience — while also explaining the modern entry routes, the academic expectations and the practical realities of frontline work. My background allows me to give realistic, supportive and relatable guidance to anyone considering a future in policing.
