Lucrezia Sperindio

I am an experienced tutor and university lecturer with a PhD in Classics from the University of Warwick, and I specialise in Latin and Ancient Greek language and literature. Over the past several years, I’ve taught at leading UK institutions including University College London, Royal Holloway, and Warwick, working with students at undergraduate level and beyond. My academic research focuses on Latin poetry, especially Horace, and my passion for ancient languages is at the heart of everything I do.

As a tutor, I tailor each session to the individual needs of my students, whether you're preparing for GCSEs, A-levels, or simply exploring the Classical world for the first time. I am especially experienced in helping students build confidence with unseen translation, textual analysis, and essay writing. My approach is both rigorous and encouraging — I want students to feel challenged, but also supported and inspired.

In addition to my university teaching, I have led outreach sessions for schools in both the UK and Italy, and I work actively to make Classics accessible, inclusive, and relevant today. I have also published scholarly articles and reviews in leading academic journals, and my work is informed by the latest research in the field.
