Lucie Bowden

I am a psychology student at the University of Southampton and took psychology in college. In my lessons, I always focus on the individual needs of each student. With my training in Special Educational Needs (SEN), I have the skills to adapt my teaching style to ensure that all students, including those who may need extra support, feel confident and engaged. Structure is vital to learning, so my lessons follow a clear format. We will start by reviewing previous work and discussing what we'll cover in the lesson. I will introduce new material in a way that's easy to understand, using visual aids and practical examples, depending on the student's needs. Once we've reviewed the material, there will be practice questions where students can apply what they've learned. Finally, we will recap the lesson, and I will provide constructive feedback to help students know where they are and where they can improve. I shall also provide study materials. Most of my lessons will be online via teams, or if in Southampton, I am more than happy to do in-person sessions! Our first session will discuss your knowledge, the content you need to learn about, and the best approach for your learning, such as mind maps. I like to ensure my lessons are engaging and interactive and, most importantly, that you feel confident and comfortable asking any questions. Remember, no question is ever silly. I aim to make every lesson fun and rewarding, ensuring you feel heard, respected and encouraged!
