I have been tutoring for 6 years and teaching maths for ks3 and ks4 in a mainstream secondary school for 3 years.
My lessons are specifically tailored to the student with models of how to do the work completed either through diagrams or written words, depending on the student. They will have plenty of time to practice each concept through various questions.
For ks3 students I always have a section in each lesson that develops the basics of maths, things like numeracy, especially times tables and negative numbers. The lesson will get gradually harder but focus around 1 topic per lesson.
For ks4 students, lessons will focus on 1 topic only, progressing from the basics of that topic to exam style questions from the topic. It will focus on this topic until they can confidently do exam style questions that are appropriate for them.
I also have experience with all types of sen including autism, adhd and dyscalculia. Meaning that I can easily tailor the lesson to suit their needs. Including practice on using the calculator and lessons on basic arithmetic as well as tutoring in ways that will engage them, which includes quizzes and videos.
