My lessons are tailored, engaging, and fully centred on the needs and interests of each individual student. I specialise in one-to-one support, with a strong focus on building confidence, enjoyment, and a genuine understanding of the subject matter. Whether I'm supporting core curriculum areas like English and maths, or helping children with additional learning needs, I ensure every session is structured, positive, and accessible.
Each lesson is thoughtfully planned but also responsive, allowing flexibility depending on the student's energy, mood, or confidence that day. I often use interactive tasks, games, stories, visual aids, and real-life scenarios to keep learning dynamic and meaningful. I take time to understand how each child learns best and adapt my teaching style accordingly—whether they are visual learners, hands-on thinkers, or need more time to process.
My lessons typically begin with a warm-up or recap to revisit prior learning, followed by focused work on key skills, and end with a short review to celebrate progress and boost self-esteem. I always give constructive, encouraging feedback to help learners feel motivated and proud of their achievements.
With a background in emotional literacy and extensive experience supporting children with SEND and SEMH needs, I bring a calm, patient, and empathetic approach to every session. I also love to incorporate students’ hobbies—such as animals, nature, or creative writing—to make learning exciting and relevant. Above all, I strive to make my lessons a space where children feel safe, supported, and inspired to learn.
