In the first few lessons with students, I work through a past paper that is from their schools specified curriculum which helps me identify any areas they struggle in and to also get an idea of what grade they currently work at.
From there, I create a lesson plan which covers all subject areas, but mainly focuses on the areas that require the most improvements. If it is needed, I will start from scratch with the student, as I feel that a a strong basic maths knowledge is all you need to be able to progress further.
Throughout the online lessons, I will screen share my screen to be able to write and demonstrate how to answer questions, and to also help work through the problems with students.
I also like to help students to work through their homework to ensure they have an understanding at the subject they are working on within school, and to also get an understanding of how their school chooses to teach them!
Throughout my tutoring sessions, I ensure that there are rest breaks and constant communication between the student and myself. I am patient and hardworking, and in my sessions there are no silly questions!
I have also had experience working with students who have learning difficulties such as Autism, ADHD and Dyslexia, therefore I am more than happy to ensure lessons are not only informative, but also engaging and enjoyable!
In previous years, I have helped a range of students from different schools and working environments improve their grades, move them up to a higher set in maths, or even help them pass in class examinations. I will always strive to create a positive working environment for all my students and ensure to encourage them and improve their maths skills.
