Bespoke tuition curated to the needs of the student. Happy to deliver a PowerPoint, verbal, or worksheet style of lesson, depending on the specific content needed. Also able to provide guidance and feedback on essay structure, and further reading to deepen understanding and help attain a higher grade. I can also adapt lessons depending on whether you are looking to understand a topic from scratch, prepare for an upcoming exam, or work through a particular essay or argument that you are struggling with.
I've studied a wide range of philosophy, at an undergraduate and masters level. I have a particular interest in how philosophy is relevant to daily life, and therefore always like to contextualise these discussions with what we know now, and then can dig into the nuance of how the thought in that particular area has evolved, and why. I think philosophy can sometimes feel unnecessarily complicated, particularly when it is presented without much context, so I try to break difficult ideas down without losing the interesting parts of them.
I'm not an overly serious person, and think that learning is at its best when it feels fun and genuine, so don't expect anything super formal. I want lessons to feel more like a conversation where we can properly explore ideas, rather than simply working through a textbook. At the same time, I'll make sure we stay focused on what you actually need to achieve, whether that is improving your understanding, preparing for an exam, or getting an essay into a much stronger position.
