Hi! I’m Lola, a dedicated and friendly tutor who has recently completed my GCSEs with grades 7, 8, and 9 across all subjects. I’m about to begin A-levels in Biology, Economics, Politics, and Religious Studies, and I’m excited to offer tutoring support to students from Key Stage 1 all the way up to Key Stage 4.
I tutor a wide range of subjects depending on the student’s level and needs. For Key Stages 1 and 2, I offer English, Maths, and Science, helping younger students build strong foundational skills in a supportive and encouraging environment. At Key Stage 3, I tutor Maths, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. For GCSE-level students, I focus on Foundation Maths, Combined Science, Biology, Religious Studies, and PE. Sessions can range from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the student's attention span, goals, and personal learning style.
My teaching approach is patient, creative, and flexible. I tailor every session to suit the individual student—whether they need help understanding tricky concepts, preparing for exams, or building better study habits. I believe learning should feel empowering, not overwhelming.
As someone with dyslexia, I truly understand how difficult it can be to learn in a way that doesn’t match the traditional classroom style. My own experience has taught me how to think outside the box and develop creative strategies that work for different kinds of thinkers. This insight helps me connect especially well with neurodivergent students or those who feel discouraged or left behind in a typical school setting. My goal is always to make things "click" in a way that feels natural and clear to the learner.
Though I’m still early in my professional journey, I have informal tutoring experience—helping peers, younger students, and family members with schoolwork. I’ve always had a passion for teaching and explaining things, even from a young age. There’s something incredibly rewarding about watching someone grow in confidence and overcome challenges they once thought were too hard.
I currently offer online tutoring, and I’m also available for in-person sessions within a set local area. I aim to create a calm, positive learning space where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and celebrating their progress.
In the future, I hope to pursue a career in law, politics, or possibly teaching. But for now, I’m focused on helping students feel more capable, motivated, and proud of their achievements—whatever their starting point may be.
Thank you so much for considering me as a tutor. I’d love the opportunity to support your child’s learning journey.
Warm regards,
Lola Cook
