Lola Bushen

Hi! I’m Lola, and I’m passionate about helping students succeed in Psychology. Having recently completed A-Level Psychology and now studying an Integrated Master’s in Psychology and Human Neuroscience at the University of Plymouth, I understand exactly what students need to achieve top grades and how challenging the subject can sometimes feel.

My lessons are friendly, supportive and completely tailored to each student. Whether you’re aiming to improve your confidence, prepare for exams or achieve the highest grades, I’ll adapt every lesson to suit your goals and learning style. I break down difficult psychological theories, studies and research methods into simple, easy-to-understand explanations before practising how to apply them in exam questions.

A big focus of my tutoring is exam technique. Many students know the content but struggle to write the answers examiners are looking for. I’ll teach you how to structure essays, answer shorter questions effectively, use psychological terminology accurately and avoid common mistakes. Together we’ll practise real exam questions, go through mark schemes and build the skills needed to maximise your marks.

Alongside my studies, I’ve completed work experience in biomedical research and gained experience learning from psychology professionals, which has strengthened my understanding of research methods and scientific thinking. This allows me to explain not just what students need to know, but why psychological research is carried out the way it is.

My aim is to create a relaxed, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I believe confidence is just as important as knowledge, and I want every student to leave each lesson feeling more capable than when they arrived.
