Lizzy Papanastasiou

I have extensive experience in Secondary School Education, test preparation, and tutoring, coupled with a decade of experience teaching Religious Education. I have experience teaching GCSE for EdExcel, AQA and WJEC Educas, which means I understand what is required to succeed in the exam questions presented by each exam board. I can support with the complex evaluation responses which require critical thinking and in depth knowledge of a faith. I do this through scaffolding, practice exam questions and ensuring students have ample opportunity to retrieve information learnt and knowledge gained regularly.

I use a variety of approaches to help students to learn complex concepts, such as mind mapping, visual learning, memory charting and retrieval. I understand this importance of revisiting past content whilst teaching new information, as it helps to continually solidify knowledge and understanding. I can do this through short assessments and lots of questioning. Also, through understanding Religion in the context of modern society and current affairs, I feel students understand the difference between belief in a faith and the practice of it.

I adapt to each student's unique needs and cultivate an engaging learning space that fosters inquiry and growth. As a Private Tutor, I will personalise the teaching I deliver, tailoring it to the students individual and unique needs. I believe that this can make a significant difference in a student's academic journey.
