I believe in working the way that not only the students prefer but also in a structured way to ensure that methods are modelled and thoroughly understood before lots and lots of practice! Maths needs building blocks that are thoroughly understood before moving on to the next block and then pulling it all together for full understanding. I like to work in way so that students find it enjoyable and fun, a lot of humour thrown in for good measure!
