I have worked in education for over 20 years both pre-school and Primary. I have also taught privately for several years with Primary school children that are finding literacy and numeracy difficult to grasp. Meeting parent who are frustrated with homework and fighting to get their little ones to read is a regular occurrence. My approach is to make learning fun, working with their likes and interests and involving these in their learning to gain attention and focus. Children only learn if they are happy with the environment and are comfortable with your expectations are of them, building confidence in their own ability is key to bringing out the best in their ability. My children have so much fun they don’t even realise that they are actually learning, when reminded of what they have achieved is all the more rewarding to both them and myself.

I am situated in Hoghton close to Higher Walton in Preston.
