I take a supportive, student-centred approach to every session. I begin by getting to know each student, understanding how they are feeling and discussing what they hope to achieve. Together, we set realistic goals for the session and create a plan that is tailored to their individual needs.
One of my strengths is researching and evaluating information. Having changed my own educational path after carefully comparing universities and courses, I understand how overwhelming academic decisions can feel. I teach students how to research reliable sources, compare their options, and use practical decision-making tools, such as pros and cons lists, to help them feel more confident in their choices.
I also share study techniques that have genuinely worked for me. I significantly improved my own academic performance during GCSES, going from failing to achieving an A in Mathematics within a year by using structured revision timetables, the Pomodoro technique, active recall and consistent goal-setting. I aim to help students build confidence, improve their study habits and develop strategies they can continue using long after our sessions.
Above all, I want students to leave each session feeling more confident, motivated and equipped with practical tools they can apply independently.
