I am an experienced teacher of GCSE and A Level English Language, English Literature and Media Studies, with over 15 years of teaching experience across both the state and private sectors.

I cater to all abilities and pride myself on building warm, supportive relationships with students, while also helping them to develop confidence, independence and strong academic habits. Whether a student is aiming to secure a pass, improve by a grade or two, or achieve the very highest results, I provide carefully tailored support to meet their individual needs.

My teaching is clear, structured and encouraging. I help students to strengthen their subject knowledge, sharpen their analytical and essay-writing skills, and develop effective revision strategies that they can use with confidence in lessons, coursework and examinations. I also place a strong emphasis on helping students to understand exactly what examiners are looking for, so that their hard work translates into improved performance.

Alongside my classroom experience, I have held a range of pastoral and leadership roles in schools, which has given me a strong understanding of how to motivate young people, support their wellbeing and help them fulfil their potential. I aim to make tutoring both rigorous and enjoyable, creating sessions in which students feel challenged, supported and capable of real progress.
