My lessons are student focused with a clear lesson aim to achieve. Lessons start with a warm-up to provide context and to determine what the learner can and cannot do. From there, the tools to help accomplish the goal of the lesson are provided in easy activities that reflect what was practiced in the warm-up and will be used in the final activity. Listening activities are used to help reinforce either the grammar point or vocabulary that were introduced in the lesson.

Once the learner has a good grasp of what was taught, the final task is then implemented. Homework is then provided either to reinforce what was done in class or to help prepare the learner for the next lesson. After several lessons are completed, a review and a consultation are given to provide overall feedback to the learner. Each lesson creates an environment that encourages high student talking time. During this time, the learner can also provide feedback on changes they would like in how the lessons are provided or to change the course of what they are learning.

I have taught in conversation schools, colleges, universities, and businesses. Though the core of the lessons were English conversation, a secondary aim was sometimes included to focus on skills such as listening and / or writing. I am experienced in teaching test strategies for TOIEC and TOEFL.
