In my lessons, we spend most of our time actually using Portuguese — speaking, reading real texts, listening to natural audio, and writing short pieces that connect to your life. Grammar is part of every lesson, but never as an isolated drill: I introduce grammar when it unlocks something you want to say, and I explain the logic behind the rules so they make sense rather than feeling arbitrary.
A typical lesson with me has three moments. We start with a warm-up conversation in Portuguese, adjusted to your level — even at A1, you'll be speaking from minute one. Then we move into the focus of the day: this might be a grammar point, a vocabulary theme, a pronunciation challenge, a piece of writing we work on together, or a real text or audio we explore. We close with a practice activity that puts everything together — a dialogue, a written task, or a conversation about something you actually care about.
I prepare personalised materials for every student: handouts, audio clips, video selections, writing prompts, and exercises designed around your goals. Between lessons, I send small tasks that reinforce what we covered — short, realistic, and never overwhelming.
I bring 16 years of teaching experience into every session. Currently I teach at CIAL – Centro de Línguas in Lisbon, working daily with adult learners from A1 to C1. I hold a teaching degree in Portuguese and English, a postgraduate specialisation in Applied Linguistics, a Master's degree, and I'm finishing a PhD in Portuguese as a Foreign Language at the University of Lisbon. That experience shapes how I diagnose where you're struggling and how I design the path forward.
