In lessons with students I value clear communication, mutual understanding and ensuring the student understands the topic or problem explained before moving on.

Sometimes I will ask the student to have a go at the questions themselves to assure that they understand it. Otherwise, I will go through it with them in clear, step-by-step instruction. To ensure mutual understanding, I always leave the answers tab for page questions at my retrieval.
