I enjoy helping students reach their full potential and gain confidence in their abilities! I am an organised, friendly student studying Geography BSc at the University of Bristol. My flexible first year university schedule allows me to dedicate significant time and focus to each student's learning.
Having previous experience in tutoring GCSE Maths and A-Level Geography students, I understand that every learner is different! My lessons are tailored to the student's individual goals and exam board specifications. I create structured lesson plans often in the form of presentations, that hone in on areas of weakness that need strengthening, while maintaining areas of confidence. I like to work through all key points of the student’s geography syllabus, so that all areas are covered and understood. Lessons typically include clear explanations of key concepts, active recall and exam style questions to develop their exam technique. Additionally, I prioritise spaced repetition as this further embeds the content! I also focus on common exam pitfalls and teach effective exam strategies to maximise grades. I focus on using research-supported teaching methods that have been shown to improve student’s learning. To support learning outside of lessons, I can provide resources that I used during my own GCSE and A-Level Geography revision. I also strive to create a supportive and engaging learning environment, where students feel comfortable asking any questions, especially as this may not be the case at school. I aim to not only to improve academic results, but to help students become more motivated and independent learners!
