I am a dedicated tutor with a strong academic background. I graduated from Oxford with a BA in History and achieved a Distinction in my GDL law conversion course. My academic excellence was further recognised with the Humanities Scholarship and a Subject Prize for Economics during my International Baccalaureate (IB) studies. I also received Distinction for my History Extended Essay and a top score for my Higher Level Mandarin.

With extensive teaching experience, I specialise in teaching History, English and Mandarin to students preparing for GCSE and IB/A-Level exams. My expertise also extends to guiding students through the rigorous Oxbridge application process. Additionally, as a future trainee solicitor at Latham & Watkins, I offer valuable insights and support to students aspiring to secure training contracts in the legal field.

Excellent essay writing, research and analytical skills are key to achieving academic success in History and English. This can be honed through individual tuition, where we practice close analysis of the question, definition of arguments, citing of sources or evidence, developing coherence and ensuring clear structure. We work at the student's pace, going through personalised feedback of the student's practice essays to help he or she understand where they are lacking and how they can improve. As for Mandarin, my method in teaching this language is to encourage them to read aloud during class which is highly effective in improving literacy. Constant writing and dictation practices are also essential in helping students memorise Chinese characters. Patience, practice and guidance is key.

My passion for education and appreciation for diligence have allowed me to develop a holistic and driven approach to tutoring, which is ideal for students seeking personalised guidance and academic success. I believe in fostering an optimistic and motivated attitude in my students, encouraging them to learn from their mistakes, not to give up and to always challenge themselves.

She really helped me in both History and English lessons. Her way of teaching is very patient yet thorough and detailed. She also managed to make the subjects interesting, and my grades for both subjects improve a lot because of her, especially when it was very poor and I first started.
