I am a bubbly person and I have been educating kids my whole life! I love to bring adaptive techniques to teaching subjects so students are more likely to retain the information but also have fun while doing so. I’m happy to find online resources or make my own depending on what the student needs most, but I’ll always make sure they are tailored to challenge their ability level. I have had experience tutoring on a one-to-one basis during my college years and COVID 19 lockdown and more recently I have started teaching in a primary school. I have taught lessons in phonics, reading, handwriting and SPAG and outside of English I have taught a range of subjects. In my experience, often in school students who need the most attention are often given the least and it can be hard for a student to receive adequate resources in a lesson where there are 30 other pupils who all need tailored help. I am confident that my lessons will help assess where improvements need to be made and simultaneously scaffold the child’s learning to whatever goal is set! I am realistic that every student will be different and will learn at different paces and so I want to offer reassurance that I can devote a lot of time to make sure the student succeeds. I am familiar with the KS1 and KS2 curriculums as I am undergoing my PGCE with qualified teacher status, and so I can use this foundation of knowledge to understand where the student currently is academically and what they can achieve given the right support!
