Selina

Hello! My name is Selina, and I am a passionate and dedicated violin tutor holding an ABRSM Grade 8 qualification. Music has always been a profound part of my life, and I am genuinely excited to share my love and knowledge of the violin with students of all ages and proficiency levels. Whether you are a complete beginner picking up the instrument for the very first time or an intermediate player looking to polish your technique, my lessons are fully tailored to your individual goals, pace, and learning style.

My Lesson Format and Approach:
Strong Foundational Technique: We will focus on establishing healthy playing habits from the ground up, including proper posture, bow hold, left-hand frame, intonation, and rhythm. Interactive and Dynamic Practice: Lessons are structured to be engaging and supportive. I break down complex technical challenges into manageable, fun steps so that students never feel overwhelmed. Musicality and Expression: Beyond the mechanics, I encourage students to connect with the music emotionally, exploring phrasing, dynamics, and tone production to bring every piece to life.

My Experience and Qualities:
Having gone through the rigorous training required for the ABRSM Grade 8 examination, I understand the challenges and milestones musicians face along their learning journey. I am patient, encouraging, and attentive to each student's unique needs. My goal is to create a positive, pressure-free environment where mistakes are welcomed as learning opportunities, and progress is celebrated. Together, we will transform difficult passages into rewarding musical achievements. Let’s embark on this wonderful musical journey together and unlock your true potential on the violin!
