About Me

Hello! My name is Leah, and I’m a native Chinese speaker with experience teaching Mandarin to beginners of all ages. I offer online one-on-one lessons that are practical, engaging, and completely tailored to your level and learning goals.

What are my lessons like?

My lessons are designed to help you start speaking Chinese from day one. We’ll cover:
• Pinyin and pronunciation
• Basic vocabulary and sentence structures
• Useful everyday expressions
• Cultural tips and real-life conversations

I use visual slides, interactive exercises, and simple explanations in English to make Chinese easier to understand and more enjoyable to learn. I also provide review notes and optional practice tasks after class to help you review at your own pace.

My background

I hold a Master’s degree in Media and Culture from the University of Glasgow and have a strong background in language, communication, and cross-cultural education. I’m fluent in English, Mandarin, and Uyghur, and I love helping students discover the beauty of the Chinese language and culture.
