Lauren Mainwaring

As someone with experience teaching children, adults and SEN students in varying different fields, I've covered it all! With a Bachelor of Science degree, I've been there, I've been a student juggling studying, work and a social life. I am ready to adapt to your individual learning needs, providing useful advice and planning techniques as well as exceptional listening and communication skills to take on board what you really want as the customer.

My previous opportunities have allowed me to guide people in several different environments, not just academically. This includes being a qualified Swim Instructor, Assistant Dance Teacher and of course personal tutoring online, in schools and working in kids after school clubs. I have also volunteered in local homeless shelters. All of these experiences have exemplified my understanding of how to help a range of abilities and ages as they have challenged me to also work with neurodiverse clients and deal with unpredicatable behaviour. This has developed my patience, trust and rapport building techniques.

Administrative roles for construction and development companies have taught me how to formulate coordinated tasks and calendars across multiple workstreams, whilst maintaining organised documents for internal records and databases. Additionally, I have liaised with quantity surveyors to maintain budget and legal standards of construction projects to manage contractual and financial commitments. Thus, this shows how I can actively gather information, clarify expectations and understand priorities tailored to a particular person or company, all whilst juggling budgets, deadlines, compliance issues or scheduling conflicts.

Similarly, my own dog walking business highlighted my ability to successfully build trusting and reliable relationships with clients. In addition, co-ordinating schedules and plans to make time for going on walks, meal plans and security instructions has benefitted my organisation and time management skills.
