In my lessons, I like to keep things interactive and relaxed so that students feel comfortable and confident. We usually start by checking in on what they already know and what they’d like to work on, then set a clear goal for the session together. From there, I’ll explain tricky ideas step by step, use examples that make sense to them, and give plenty of chances to practise without pressure.
I often bring in real-life links or exam-style questions, depending on what a student needs, so they can see how science fits both in the classroom and the world around them.
My experience of teaching in schools for over five years, alongside tutoring online with ages 8–16, has taught me that every student learns differently—so I shape each lesson to suit them. Most importantly, I want every child to leave feeling more confident and capable than when they started.
