At GCSE I received a grade 8 in Mathematics, so I will be able to help students with the fundamentals concepts needed to score those top marks. First, I tend to target weaknesses before solidifying strengths as I believe there is no point only revising what you are good at and hoping the topics you are weak in do not turn up. After each topic, I give my students end of topic quizzes so I would let them know the lesson before that the next lesson will be an end of topic test and advise they revise for the test. Through this, I am able to: 1) See where the student has gone wrong and help them understand why they are wrong and talk them through the working out. 2) Reflect on myself and think about how I could teach this concept/topic better in the future to ensure there is no confusion for any of my future students. I encourage my students to ask me questions so we can further develop understanding on a certain topic to ensure we reach those top grades of 6s and above for GCSE’s and 105 and above for SATs. I also tend to tailor my teaching around the student as this tends to streamline progress and means that students will be able to learn more in a shorter time period, which saves you (the parent) money and ensures that the student is able to finish topics before they learn it in class.Contact me today and let’s get those top grades!
