I’m passionate about helping students achieve their academic goals and have been since I can remember. Helping others learn in a safe environment where they can ask questions and receive encouraging feedback Is something I like to strive for. Learning is all about having fun and encouraging curiosity to flourish, which would be my main approach towards learning. In my opinion, learning and knowledge are equal to growth and opportunity, not just academically, but personally. I would love more than anything to be able to provide that opportunity for somebody.

As a tutor, I take my job very seriously, as I play an important role in this person’s life. I hold some relevant experience including a BSc in Applied Psychology and I’m currently a primary school assistant, where I help young children with homework, as well as engage in leisurely activities and play.

I like to incorporate a student-centered inquiry that focused on the student’s role in the learning process. I believe in ‘learning by doing’ and like to see students exploring the material or concept, making sense of it, sharing thoughts and asking ideas, rather than just me orally explaining the concept and the student having to regurgitate the concept back to me. I believe through this approach, students develop critical skills such as researching, and reflection on information through independent exploration and engagement with the content.

I also use a mixture of experimental learning and game-based learning styles whenever possible, to create a fun and interactive learning environment!
