Experienced from the USW Popular & Commercial Music course and over nine years of performing and writing.

My lessons are online and largely casual, based on basic lesson structures that can be moulded to suit what's best for you in a fun and conversational approach. They involve activities and tasks outlined to help you get acquainted with your chosen instrument, learn the ins and outs of music, and find your voice as a performer/writer.

Topics of note will entail:

• Performance skills: getting what you can out of your instrument; piano and guitar are my focus.
• Music theory: what is music made of?
• Songwriting tips: interested in making music of your own? What can we do to find your voice?
• Music history: why is the music we like the way it is?

All this will be covered through tasks based around music that best suits your style and genre. Let me know what you like and I can get you to not only play your favourite songs, but understand them and see in them the beauty inherent in the craft of music. Go over why your favourite songs were made the way they were, how they were made. That way you can know how best to play them and how they can help in improving your musical skills overall.
