My lessons are structured but relaxed, with a strong focus on making maths feel less stressful and more manageable. I usually start by getting to know what the student is confident with and what they find difficult, then plan the lessons around that. I also like to know their goals, whether that’s improving grades, preparing for exams, or simply feeling more confident in maths. This helps me tailor each lesson to their specific needs rather than following a set approach.
Lessons are broken down into clear sections. I start with a recap of previous topics, then introduce or review a specific maths concept step by step. I explain the reasoning behind methods so students understand why something works, not just how to get the answer. We then work through examples together before the student attempts further questions independently, with guidance and feedback throughout. I focus mainly on GCSE Maths, covering core topics, exam-style questions and problem-solving. I also set small goals for each lesson so students can see clear progress over time. I encourage consistent practice and positive mindset to help build confidence in maths.
I have experience tutoring GCSE Maths one-to-one, so I know how to explain topics in different ways and adapt my lessons to suit each students pace and learning style. I keep lessons supportive and interactive, encouraging questions and mistakes as part of learning. My aim is for students to feel comfortable, supported and confident, leaving each lesson with a clearer understanding and improved problem solving skills.
