As a private tutor, first of all I estimate my potential student's level during our trial lesson. After that I plan and adjust the course for my students according to their goals and needs. Moreover, I have designed the programme myself which allows the learners to extend their grammar usage, build-up the vocabulary, and finally be able to apply the newly gained knowledge. I am a total supporter of communicative approach and I do believe that the best way to memorise the material is only due to an ongoing practise and frequent revision of previously learnt topics. During the lessons I make sure the students speak English most of the time, therefore I use multiple activities, games and role-play tasks with questions and answers to allow the students to practice speaking as much as possible. When having lessons with children I make sure they write the words we learn and further on their essays by hand in a notebook, then I usually ask their parents to send me the image of their homework so that I could correct it if necessary and send it back. I also use an actual whiteboard during the lessons and really encourage my young learners to use it at their place as well.
When having our lessons, the students are provided with all necessary digital textbooks, workbooks, audio and video files. The programme I introduce is based on well-known student books of Cambridge University Press. When having French lessons I base the programme on CLE international teaching methods.
