I am a Physics student at the University of Glasgow with experience tutoring first-year students one to one and in groups through my peer-to-peer teaching and learning module.
My online lessons are based on the topics you need help with and your current understanding. We can use your course notes and practice questions to work through difficult ideas, taking time to explain the physics behind each step.
Before a lesson, you can let me know which specific physics topics or questions you would like to cover. This gives us a starting point, but we can adjust the pace as we go. You are welcome to ask questions whenever something is unclear, and we can revisit earlier ideas when needed.
I use questions to help you connect unfamiliar problems to ideas you already understand. If something is unclear, we can break it into smaller steps or approach it through a different explanation. You will have time to try questions yourself and discuss your reasoning, with guidance where you need it.
We can also look at how you approach a question before starting the calculation. This includes identifying the relevant numerical information, deciding which physical relationships apply and checking that all the units make sense. Working through these decisions can make a difficult question easier to follow and give you a method to use in future.
I enjoy helping students build confidence. My aim is for you to leave each lesson with a clearer understanding and feel more comfortable approaching similar problems independently.
