Maths wasn’t always easy for me. As a teenager, I often found myself struggling with certain topics because I didn’t receive the level of support or understanding I needed. Looking back, I realised that sometimes all it takes is someone who is patient, explains things in a different way, and believes in your ability to improve. That experience inspired me to become the kind of tutor I wish I’d had.
My lessons are designed to be supportive, engaging, and tailored to each student’s individual learning style. Whether a student is finding maths challenging, preparing for GCSE exams, or aiming for top grades, I adapt every lesson to their goals and pace. I believe that no question is a silly question, and I encourage students to ask as many as they need to fully understand a topic.
Each lesson begins by reviewing previous learning and identifying any areas of difficulty before moving on to new concepts through clear explanations and worked examples. We then practise together using a range of questions, including exam-style problems, so students can build confidence and apply what they’ve learned independently. I also share revision techniques and problem-solving strategies that help students feel more prepared for assessments.
As an Accounting and Finance student at Brunel University, I use mathematics every day in my degree, strengthening my analytical and numerical skills. More importantly, I understand what it feels like to lack confidence in maths and how transformative the right support can be. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades but also to help them believe in themselves, enjoy learning, and realise that maths is something they are capable of succeeding in.
