Kian Hope

Hello! My name is Kian - I have a First class honours degree in mathematics! Additionally, I obtained my PGCE in secondary education maths! I have been teaching for the last two years!

Lessons in mathematics should be strategic, practical and useful. Accessing the bare basics of mathematics allows students, with the correct guidance, to flourish in their work and achieve their maximum potential. I provide a fun and positive work environment that allows children to comfortably achieve their targets.

I provide the first session free, which will allow me to converse with your family and gain a common ground of what we need to work on. With this, I will adapt my pedagogical approach to the needs of the student and allow them to succeed in their work.

Children will always have work to work on and targets to maintain. Our sessions will be working on the national curriculum and more and adjusting the difficulty of this curriculum to their level.

Format of every session will not be the same but will share a some what of a similar structure:

Challenge breaker/fluent in five: 5 mins to exercise the mind.

Discussion of the new topic or continued topic - 15 mins.

Application of new knowledge - 25 mins

Refresh and recap - 5 mins
