I have amassed a wealth of experiences as a volunteer tutor at my local community centre. Through this opportunity, I have learnt how to adapt my teaching methods for the different needs of students: using diagrams, tables and educational games. Additionally, I have been able to hone my ability to manage the teaching of mutilple students at the same time which is a fundamental skill needed to become a good tutor.
From my experience as a mentor i have learnt valuable lessons. How to engage students- included visual methods, including students in decion of how they want to be taught- how to take feedback and improve experience. Behavioural management - attention spans and AD/HD students. Diffcult children and making a difference to the children. Creating a comfortable environment by playing games with them and talking personal. Sharing information about yourself. Breaking down barrier and receptible to guidance rather than strictly being disruptive.
