I’m a friendly, approachable mentor with training in hypnotherapy and basic counselling skills, bringing therapeutic knowledge, active listening, and one-to-one support to every session. I create a safe, calm, and chatty space where students feel heard, supported, and confident to explore challenges. Lessons are tailored to each student’s needs, helping them gain confidence, manage challenges in lessons, and develop practical strategies to navigate school life.
Drawing on my experience as a SEND teaching assistant with knowledge of ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and Tourette’s, I provide pastoral mentoring and personalised guidance that boosts motivation, participation, and wellbeing. I’ve worked extensively in one-to-one support, reading and phonics interventions, and mentoring sessions, helping students develop both academically and emotionally. My approach is always calm, patient, and responsive, ensuring students feel safe to share worries, ask questions, and build confidence at their own pace.
In addition to academic and pastoral support, I bring a creative and performing arts background. I understand how drama, performance, and creative activities can help students express themselves, build confidence, and improve communication skills. Many students thrive when learning incorporates creativity, movement, and engaging activities, and I love integrating this wherever appropriate.
My sessions are flexible and conversational, providing a supportive environment where students can talk about school challenges, develop strategies for lessons, or just have someone to listen. Sometimes the focus is on practical solutions, such as strategies to stay organised, complete homework, or approach specific lessons confidently. Other times it’s about emotional support, encouragement, and boosting self-esteem, especially for students who might be struggling socially or academically.
Overall, my aim is to help each student feel empowered, understood, and equipped with the skills and confidence to navigate school life successfully. Whether it’s supporting SEND students, mentoring through challenges, or guiding them to participate more confidently in lessons and activities, I provide a friendly, professional, and personalised space where every student can thrive.
This version keeps everything you wanted: your therapeutic training at the top, your SEND and pastoral experience, the creative/performing arts angle, and emphasizes that students can talk, build confidence, and develop strategies, all while keeping it professional and approachable.
