I have taught at university at both a graduate and post graduate level in both the audit and accounting disciplines for over a decade. In addition I was a facilitator under the old Chartered Accountant Program Focus Sessions, provide exam drop in sessions across the whole accounting discipline and one on one tutoring for university students.
Alongside my teaching, I have been an Auditor for 6 years and a Financial Accountant for 16 years where I have gained a wealth of knowledge in the application of accounting standards to the "real world". Having this background allows me to be provide multiple scenarios to explain concepts to assist in my students understanding.
I am a neurodiverse mother with three neurodiverse children. We all have different communication preferences and this awareness and understanding of the potential differences in learning and thinking styles has benefited me in my teaching. I have taught across a culturally diverse university cohort, which has further developed my teaching skills and allowed me to further adapt my examples to assist in supporting my students.
I enjoy teaching as a method for sharing my accounting interests and maintaining my own professional development as both the conceptual framework and audit and accounting standards change over time. I hope to be able to add to my teaching through the FindTutors platform in addition to the work I do with several local universities.
I am flexible in my availability, and generally available at short notice as required. I look forward to working with you in future.
