Hi my name is Kayla/Mrs Lubega!

My lessons are friendly, creative, and focused on building confidence as well as understanding. I believe learning should feel enjoyable and personal, so I tailor each session to match every student’s individual goals and pace. Whether you’re improving your English writing, exploring literature, or working on communication skills, I make sure each lesson feels engaging, encouraging, and achievable.

I use a mix of discussion, practical exercises, and real-life examples to keep lessons interactive and relatable. For students who prefer visual or performance-based learning, I bring in creative activities that help concepts stick- drawing on my background in performing arts to make lessons lively and expressive.

My experience studying English Literature with Education Studies at De Montfort University has strengthened my ability to explain complex ideas clearly and support students in developing critical thinking and analytical skills. I’ve also worked in customer-facing and community roles, which has helped me build patience, empathy, and great communication- qualities that make a big difference in the classroom or during one-to-one lessons.

Above all, I create a safe, positive learning space where students feel valued and motivated to try their best. I love seeing progress and helping learners realise their potential, no matter their starting point. With encouragement, structure, and a bit of creativity, every student can grow in confidence and truly enjoy learning. My goal is to make every lesson inspiring, enjoyable, and memorable- leaving students excited to keep improving and proud of their progress.
