I use a student-centred approach. I make lessons fun and interesting so use active, collaborative engagement techniques so provide my students with opportunities to explore, discover and understand concepts through an active process of learning.
I endeavour to use a variety of learning styles (visual, auditory, kinesthetic) to keep energy levels high and minds active. Retention is increased through experience and emotion - this also encourages social-emotional development.
I teach diverse students by creating an inclusive, flexible and student-centered learning environment. I differentiate instruction to meet individual needs, using multiple teaching methods - visuals, hands-on activities and verbal explanations to support neurodiverse learners. I provide clear structure, sensory-friendly spaces and opportunities for movement when needed. For culturally diverse students, I integrate multicultural content, encourage sharing of backgrounds and foster a respectful classroom culture. I value each student's identity and adapt communication styles to be culturally sensitive. I use formative assessments to monitor understanding and adjust my teaching accordingly. Group work and discussions allow students to learn from each other’s perspectives, building empathy and collaboration. My goal is to ensure every student feels seen, supported and empowered to succeed. I actively seek feedback from students and families to improve my practice and remain committed to ongoing professional development in culturally responsive and inclusive teaching strategies.
By embracing diversity and adapting my approach, I create a supportive, engaging environment where all learners feel valued, respected and empowered to reach their full potential socially, emotionally and academically - success in studies.
